Fear of Flying – is it keeping you grounded?

You’d really like to join your mates on a golfing trip to the Algarve. Your fear of flying holds you back.

You’d love to visit your first grandchild in Hong Kong. Your fear of flying holds you back.

You’d love to go for that promotion as European Sales Manager. Your fear of flying holds you back.

As the world gets smaller and travel (in theory at least!) gets easier, so fear of flying becomes more and more of an issue.
I’ve had clients coming to me with all of these scenarios and more – their partner is fed up with cruises; the family is threatening to leave them at home while they fly off on holiday; and their job is on the line if they can’t get to that board meeting in Spain or the States.

This particular phobia can take many forms – is it the take-off and landing? Or the idea of being so high, above the clouds? Is it the fact that you are strapped in? Confined to a small space? Not in control? It is complex, and often it may be more than one or all of these.

Sometimes, there is a logical reason in this lifetime for an extreme reluctance to fly. If, for instance, you were on a transatlantic flight as a child and the plane was caught in severe turbulence over the ocean, that would be enough to trigger anxiety. Or if there was once a technical problem on a flight, it had to turn back, an engine caught fire ….. then, for some people, that is enough to put them off for life. Or several lives …

In my many years of working with fears and phobias, I have found that the real root cause of fear of flying for many people lies not in this lifetime at all, but in a past life.  Recent cases have included a man who went back to a life as a fighter pilot in WWI, when the planes were little more than balsa wood and sticking plaster and the pilots had no parachutes. He was shot down on his third mission, aged just 19. A lady found a life as a man in India in the 1600s: after exploring a fascinating life, we found him buried under rubble during an earthquake in Calcutta. He was not found, and died there, trapped in that enclosed space.

If your fear of flying is holding you back, in your personal or professional life, get in touch. Let’s get it sorted – and watch your life take off! Email me via the Contact page of this website, or call me on 01444 459 433 or 07597 020 512.

Past Lives and Life between Lives

PAST LIVES AND LIVES BETWEEN LIVES

Past life work is my passion, because I understand how powerful it can be at resolving such a wide range of issues.

Over the years I have helped lots and lots of people to explore their past lives, either out of interest or because we were tracing back the root cause of a particular issue in this lifetime. I have had clients come to me with problems such as sleep disorder; a constant, nagging anxiety; and even infertility. None of these clients would have specifically come to me for a session of past life regression and yet, working back to find the root causes, we ended up in some very interesting situations in times gone by. The process of discovering what caused the pain or trauma in the first place, and dealing with any outstanding issues of course, almost inevitably resolves the problem in this current lifetime, allowing the client to move on knowing that the baggage has been dealt with.

LIFE BETWEEN LIVES

Life between lives is a fascinating topic and, like past life regression, it’s a huge subject in itself.

If we work from the assumption that the soul survives death – what happens to it? Where does it go? Why does it come back – or doesn’t it? It would take a book to answer all of those questions in depth, and people such as Roger Woolger have produced books that do just that.

But in brief, the soul “goes home” to that other reality, that other dimension, where it is met by its soul group. This is a bit like meeting up with old friends after years of being away: a time for celebration and renewing those links, and of telling stories about that time away. What did you do, what was good, what was not so good; what you learned; all those experiences!

After a period of settling in and resting, the soul meets with what is generally called “The Council of Elders” for a more formal de-briefing of the time on earth. Each soul comes to earth with a “to do” list, lessons to be learned, challenges to be undertaken. This de-briefing is the time to go through that list and discuss how well the life lived matched the original objectives. It is not done in a judgmental way, rather with love and compassion, helping the soul to understand where the challenges were not met, as well as acknowledging the progress the soul has made in other areas. That leads to the preparation of the script for the next life, and in a session with a client I ensure that we check on the script for this life.

The purpose of the soul’s interval on earth is to make spiritual progress but it is not that easy to rattle through the “to do” list and cross things off, for it is erased from the conscious memory of the baby at birth. So how do souls know what they are meant to achieve? By linking with that inner, unconscious knowing – or by going back to that time between lives when the new contracts were agreed and the “to do” list drawn up.

Going back to the time before birth, to that period between lives, allows us to meet our soul group, those other souls who are usually with us life after life, in one way or another. A mother or brother in this life may have been a lover or a rival or a sworn enemy before. Inevitably there are reasons why they keep turning up in our lives and these threads weave their own stories across eternity. It is always fascinating to recognise people from the soul group: that in itself frequently explains relationship issues (for better or worse!) or instant attraction or that feeling of “I’ve only just met you but I feel as though I’ve known you for years”.

But the real issue is, usually, “why am I here? What is on my “to do” list this time round?” Re-playing that discussion with the “council”; re-reading the contract and reminding yourself consciously of your life’s purpose, is a very powerful exercise. I have been told, for instance, that I am in the last of a linked trilogy of lives dedicated to exploring and practising Grace. It was enormously humbling to try and understand that I had made a contract not for one, but for three lifetimes, in order to make the necessary progress along my spiritual pathway. And even more humbling to assess this current life and realise how much work there still is to be done!

It is an honour and a privilege to work with clients on this type of journey. A typical session takes a couple of hours and can be very emotional, but it is also beautiful to make that connection and to feel the unconditional love that always comes from “home”.

If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to give me a call on 01444 459 433 or 07597 020 512 or complete the email form on the CONTACT page. I look forward to hearing from you!

Next step along your spiritual pathway? Let me help!

stained glass Compassion mother and childIt may seem strange to talk about spiritual development on a hypnotherapy website, but it’s not strange to me at all. In my sessions, I blend clinical hypnotherapy with past life regression and spirit release work, and I am perfectly aware that my helpers are with me when I am with a client.

Nowadays, increasing numbers of people are “waking up” – becoming aware of latent spiritual gifts: they may start to see or hear things, or just to be aware that something has shifted. It is not always easy to find people to talk to about this – that’s why I started the Indigo Umbrella group a couple of years ago (www.indigoumbrella.co.uk). The aim is to bring together like-minded people who share an interest across the spectrum of Science meets Spirituality – and, I have to ask, in this day and age, is there actually any difference between science and spirituality at all?

I have recently had calls from people who have been “woken up” and wanted someone to talk to, some guidance and perhaps a bit of understanding about what was going on. I do not claim to be an expert by any means, but I am always happy to meet up with and talk to such people. Sometimes a past life session helps, or a session where we re-connect with the soul and that wonderful loving wisdom. Sometimes I am able to put the person in touch with others who can share their own experiences and knowledge. But always it is a comfort, a relief, for them to find a safe, welcoming environment in which to talk about “all that stuff”.

So if you feel you have just started your spiritual journey, or you are on the way but have got stuck – give me a call on 01444 459 433 or 07597 020 512: I look forward to hearing from you!

I’m back at the College of Psychic Studies in September

I led a full-day workshop on that all-important period of Life between Lives at the prestigious College of Psychic Studies in London earlier this year, and it was a sell-out. Seems it was very popular, as I have been asked to repeat the workshop in September!
Called “Sojourn of the Soul”, we shall look at all aspects of the journey of the soul from death to rebirth, and the day will end with a group regression, so that everyone has the opportunity to experience that very special process.

I set a limit of 14 people for this type of workshop so that it stays small and intimate, so if you are interested in coming along, please do book early, direct with the College of Psychic Studies. Here is the link to my entry in the Autumn Programme, and to the Autumn Programme as a whole.

Sojourn of the Soul workshop, College of Psychic Studies, Sunday 6th March

I shall be leading a workshop in the beautiful surroundings of the College of Psychic Studies in London on Sunday 6th March on “The Sojourn of the Soul – the importance of that time in between lives”.

In human terms, birth is the beginning and death is the end. For the soul there is no end, merely a passing from one state of being to another as it sheds the heavy overcoat of a physical body and returns to its true light state of pure energy.

During this workshop we will explore the soul’s sojourn, from when it passes from one human body until it joins another in its next reincarnation. You will have the opportunity of experiencing this “In-Between Life” for yourself in the group regression at the end of the workshop, reminding you of your life’s purpose in this incarnation.

Apart from experiencing that pure, unconditional love – which is beautifully emotional – you will come away with a much clearer understanding of who you are and why you are here.

The link below should take you to full details of the event: numbers are limited, so if you are interested, please don’t wait too long to book!

PAST LIFE REGRESSION: WHAT A MODERN-DAY LADY LEARNED FROM HER LIFE IN ANCIENT EGYPT

Past Life work is my passion. Over the years I have come to appreciate just how powerful this healing process can be, and I am constantly amazed at the wisdom, insights and understanding that are opened up for the client as a result of their journey.

This summary tells of a lady who wanted to experience a past life regression “out of interest”. While I do not normally encourage what I call “recreational regression”, I had a feeling that this particular client would benefit from the process – and so it was.

In regression, she went back to Egyptian times. She was a man of Indian origin who had moved to Egypt with his mother, and he had chosen to become a tax collector because that gave him power, status and money. As well as his robes of office, he held a short rod with “ribbons” to demonstrate his position.Screen shot 2015-10-29 at 11.01.09 AM

When we “parachuted in” on his life, he was getting old, and had come to the realisation that although he had the things he so craved when he was a young man – power, status and money – he had no wife, no family and no friends. When I asked if he had any messages for the person in the current incarnation, he said, “yes, always take care of your money, look after it well, don’t spend any more than you have to – but beware that it does not make you unhappy.”

I took the message, and prepared to take my leave, thanking him for his time and his communication. Just as I was leaving him, “he” – the person on the bed – started sobbing helplessly, loudly, from the depths of their soul. I asked what was the matter and, when the tears subsided, the real story emerged:

One of his regular tasks was to collect the rents from the stall-holders at the local market. Those who could not or would not pay would be beaten in public as punishment. His old mother had a stall at the market selling vegetables, and so he had to collect rent from her too. One day, his mother explained that she had not sold enough vegetables to pay the rent. He had beaten her, as he was required to do, but she was a frail old lady, and she had died. He was confused, upset, distraught. On the one hand, as a tax collector, he had merely been doing his job, and it was not his fault that she could not pay, she had to be punished. On the other hand, as a son, he had killed his own mother, and he deeply regretted that he let the arrogance of the tax collector over-rule the compassion of the son.  He desperately wanted to make amends, to say sorry, to have closure with his mother.

This involved another process, to find the spirit of his mother, which we did, and to bring them together. There were more tears, this time of joy, as the two were re-united and mother forgave son.

At the end of the session, when the lady client was back in present time, the first thing she said was, “that explains why my mother and I always argue about money!” She explained that the relationship with her mother had always been difficult, and money was invariably the trigger for rows, with the daughter (the client) accusing the mother of spending too much money on frivolous items. The client explained that she had often told her mother, “if you’re not careful, when you’re old, you won’t have any money to pay for the essential things in life, not even your rent!”

And a few weeks later she called me to say that, as if by magic, a cloud had lifted and her relationship with her mother was far more loving, not so tense, and money no longer seemed to be an issue.

Past Lives Workshop was just great!

It was a pleasure for me to spend the day with such a great bunch of people last Sunday, 13th September, for a workshop on Past Lives, Life between Lives and Soul Groups at Haywards Heath Town Hall. There were ten of us – a really nice number, I don’t work with more than 12 for these workshops. There were questions, answers – and then more questions … discussions, sharing of stories and opinions …. We meandered “off piste” into life on other planets, Karma .v. free will, holographic theory and the vibrational changes affecting the planet as a whole and each of us as individuals – nothing if not all-encompassing!

sunset with silhouette manAfter lunch there was a group regression and – apart from the one inevitable gentle snorer (there’s always one!) – everyone experienced a past life. Some were right there in the thick of it, smelling a dank prison cell or heather on the moors; feeling the texture of rough walls and soft fur; while others said they were “observers”, watching the story unfold in front of them. We found a colourful collection of personalities including a dashing young Scottish clan leader and a Maori warrior; a young Victorian lady and a man who fiddled the financial books and ended up on the streets as a result – who needs reality TV!

Seems everyone there enjoyed the day as much as I did, so my thanks to everyone who came along. And if you missed it, and would like to come along to a similar workshop in the future – let me know, I’ll put you on the list!

College of Psychic Studies magazine feature about my work

The Spring 2015 edition of “Light”, the magazine of the College of Psychic Studies, included an article written by me about the way in which I mix elements of hypnotherapy, past lives and spirit release therapy when I am working with clients.

The magazine surfaced recently from under a pile of papers, and I thought I would share the article with you – click on the link below.

When a client in a past life is dumb and blind . . .

Working with past lives

. . . it makes for an interesting session!

Screen shot 2015-06-23 at 3.28.08 PMThis happened recently with a client with whom I had been working on a number of issues. The client – who is able to talk and see normally in this lifetime – slid beautifully into a lovely deep state of relaxation, and I guided her to the door that would lead to the most relevant past life. So far, so good.

She went through the door, closing it gently behind her – and then the challenge began.
I asked her what she was wearing: silence.
I asked if she was indoors or outdoors: silence.
I asked if she was alone: silence.

Usually when a client is in a past life, he or she is able to talk, and all of the senses are fully engaged, so they can touch, smell, see and hear what is going on around them, and tell me all about it. This time there was clearly an issue.

I asked the client to indicate by blinking if she could hear me – blink.
I asked if, in that lifetime, she was dumb – big blink.
Now it became a game of 20 questions with complications. As the therapist – the “question master” – my questions have to be totally open, and not lead or influence the client in any way. But here, the questions also had to be phrased in such a way that the answer was a simple yes or no, indicated by a blink.

Slowly, patiently – and with considerable guidance from my helpers I have to say – the picture emerged. Here was a woman in her 60s, a princess who was unable to speak (and, we understood later, was unable to see either). Her father the king had recently conquered neighbouring land and, as a means of “legitimising” his land grab, married his spinster daughter to the young king whose lands had been taken. The day after the wedding, the young king killed his bride by hanging her with a noose and stabbing her with a large knife. Not a happy ending to what must have been a tough life back in the 1300s.
However, the princess had found some joy with horses, with whom she clearly had a special affinity. She had had a child by the man who looked after the horses, a daughter who saw her mother being killed in such a brutal way.

The story resonated at so many levels: the affinity with horses has been carried forward to this lifetime: the mother / daughter relationship has been reversed; and much more.

When the client came back from her experience – and was once more able to talk – she was astonished. “How did you know what questions to ask?” she asked. “It’s to do with 25 years’ experience, a mass of grey hair and a lot of help from my unseen friends,” I said . . .

From the client’s point of view, despite the handicap, it was an illuminating experience in many ways. It explained her fear of having anything around her neck – scarves, ties etc – and nightmares about a noose; ditto her fear of knives. She said that even in her kitchen she can only have out the one knife she is working with, and is wary of that! In addition, family dynamics, her love of horses, learning to speak her truth – the list went on.

As the client discovered, being in a past life that has restrictions of any kind can be very frustrating. The person in that lifetime wants to say, “no, silly, you’re barking up the wrong tree, you’re asking all the wrong questions!” – but can’t, even if she could have spoken because the person in the past lifetime can only answer questions and give descriptions – responsive rather than proactive.

I love past life work, especially when it brings such a big bucketful of insights and “ah ha” moments – even if it does mean pulling out all the stops to get there!

Full House for Past Lives Talk at Chequer Mead

Well, OK, it was only a small room, but even so, I was delighted to see some brand new faces mingling with regular Indigos for my talk at Chequer Mead last week.

It was just two hours, so there was only time to skim across the surface of this vast, fascinating topic that is a passion of mine.

The good news is that I shall be arranging a full-day workshop, similar to the one I ran at the College of Psychic Studies last October, so that we can go into more detail about Past Lives, Life between Lives and Soul Groups. There will lots of case studies, including some recorded extracts, time for questions and discussions – and time too for a group regression, so everyone has the opportunity to experience a past life for themselves.

If you would like to put your name down for this workshop, please let me know. I am aiming at either June or September, depending on venue availability – so let me know which works best for you.
