Past Lives and Life between Lives

PAST LIVES AND LIVES BETWEEN LIVES

Past life work is my passion, because I understand how powerful it can be at resolving such a wide range of issues.

Over the years I have helped lots and lots of people to explore their past lives, either out of interest or because we were tracing back the root cause of a particular issue in this lifetime. I have had clients come to me with problems such as sleep disorder; a constant, nagging anxiety; and even infertility. None of these clients would have specifically come to me for a session of past life regression and yet, working back to find the root causes, we ended up in some very interesting situations in times gone by. The process of discovering what caused the pain or trauma in the first place, and dealing with any outstanding issues of course, almost inevitably resolves the problem in this current lifetime, allowing the client to move on knowing that the baggage has been dealt with.

LIFE BETWEEN LIVES

Life between lives is a fascinating topic and, like past life regression, it’s a huge subject in itself.

If we work from the assumption that the soul survives death – what happens to it? Where does it go? Why does it come back – or doesn’t it? It would take a book to answer all of those questions in depth, and people such as Roger Woolger have produced books that do just that.

But in brief, the soul “goes home” to that other reality, that other dimension, where it is met by its soul group. This is a bit like meeting up with old friends after years of being away: a time for celebration and renewing those links, and of telling stories about that time away. What did you do, what was good, what was not so good; what you learned; all those experiences!

After a period of settling in and resting, the soul meets with what is generally called “The Council of Elders” for a more formal de-briefing of the time on earth. Each soul comes to earth with a “to do” list, lessons to be learned, challenges to be undertaken. This de-briefing is the time to go through that list and discuss how well the life lived matched the original objectives. It is not done in a judgmental way, rather with love and compassion, helping the soul to understand where the challenges were not met, as well as acknowledging the progress the soul has made in other areas. That leads to the preparation of the script for the next life, and in a session with a client I ensure that we check on the script for this life.

The purpose of the soul’s interval on earth is to make spiritual progress but it is not that easy to rattle through the “to do” list and cross things off, for it is erased from the conscious memory of the baby at birth. So how do souls know what they are meant to achieve? By linking with that inner, unconscious knowing – or by going back to that time between lives when the new contracts were agreed and the “to do” list drawn up.

Going back to the time before birth, to that period between lives, allows us to meet our soul group, those other souls who are usually with us life after life, in one way or another. A mother or brother in this life may have been a lover or a rival or a sworn enemy before. Inevitably there are reasons why they keep turning up in our lives and these threads weave their own stories across eternity. It is always fascinating to recognise people from the soul group: that in itself frequently explains relationship issues (for better or worse!) or instant attraction or that feeling of “I’ve only just met you but I feel as though I’ve known you for years”.

But the real issue is, usually, “why am I here? What is on my “to do” list this time round?” Re-playing that discussion with the “council”; re-reading the contract and reminding yourself consciously of your life’s purpose, is a very powerful exercise. I have been told, for instance, that I am in the last of a linked trilogy of lives dedicated to exploring and practising Grace. It was enormously humbling to try and understand that I had made a contract not for one, but for three lifetimes, in order to make the necessary progress along my spiritual pathway. And even more humbling to assess this current life and realise how much work there still is to be done!

It is an honour and a privilege to work with clients on this type of journey. A typical session takes a couple of hours and can be very emotional, but it is also beautiful to make that connection and to feel the unconditional love that always comes from “home”.
