How could Hypnotherapy help you?

There seems to be a perception “out there” that people who come to see someone like me must be “strange” in some way, or into “all that woo woo stuff”. Let me set the record straight on that. Some people who come to see me are indeed on their own spiritual journey, and I am very happy to work with them. Using my blend of hypnotherapy, past life, spirit release and soul retrieval work can help them overcome blockages and shift them up a notch or two. However, the majority of people who come to see have not given much thought to their spirituality at all, they just want to sort out whatever issue is holding them back. And that is absolutely fine with me too. There are many ways in which hypnotherapy can be used to help people: indeed that is one of the reasons I was attracted to it all those years ago. Like a tradesman with a toolbox full of tried and tested tools, I will use whichever techniques and processes I feel will be most effective to resolve the particular issue I am dealing with. My objective is always to get to the root cause of the issue and to resolve it at source. What are the typical types of problems that people present me with? Fears and phobias is a common one: anything from a fear of flying to fear of success – a phobia is, after all, a more exaggerated, irrational fear. Very often this can lead back to a past life – the very idea may sound strange to some people, but once they have experienced one or more of their previous lives, they are totally convinced! Weight loss is high on the list too. There is so much hype and media / peer pressure nowadays for people to be slim to the point of being skinny, that even some people I would say are “normal” want to lose weight. I do work with those who are genuinely seriously overweight and we aim to find the real underlying reason why the client is holding on to that excess weight. If needed, and after looking at the other issues, I will “fit” a hypnotic gastric band to help with weight control. “Emotional issues” covers a wide range of challenges that people face, from anxiety and stress to feeling overwhelmed with situations or relationships. Here again I always work with the client to uncover the root causes and deal with those. There may be a couple of “spirit passengers” having an influence – again, some people think this is a very strange concept. To me, it is totally natural, and results can range from subtle...

Soul Retrieval – what does that mean?

I use the Shamanic term to explain the process of going back and “retrieving” those parts of your soul that have split off and been “left behind” at times of trauma. Parts of our soul can split off at any time from birth onwards. Typical situations would be a young child abused by a parent or family member; a teenager whose heart is broken; a parent who experiences a stillbirth or whose child dies unexpectedly; and someone who loses a loved one through death or divorce: there are many more but as you can see, most people nowadays will have gone through at least one of these situations if not more. The process starts with me putting the client into a deep state of relaxation with hypnotherapy. I then talk direct with the client’s unconscious (we might also call it the inner self or higher self), and ask it to indicate the different ages at which there are situations to be addressed. Armed with this list, we start the journey. At each stop, we look for and find the “splintered-off” or “left behind” part of the client. It may be a frightened little boy who was bullied at school, too scared to tell his parents what was going on. He will probably still be scared, confused, shy… Or a teenage girl who was forced to have an abortion: she may be sad, feeling a sense of loss, angry … A young adult whose mother or father died suddenly before there was a chance to say those last goodbyes: he or she could well be feeling cheated, frustrated, angry, confused …. Each of those lost parts need to be re-integrated into the client. This is not always easy, and can often be emotional. Sometimes the lost parts are defiant:  “you’ve forgotten all about me”; “why should I trust you now?”;  “I hate you …” But eventually, with love and warmth and compassion, they can be embraced back into the heart where they belong. The process of leaving behind, letting go of, those emotions that are no longer needed, of cutting the links to any emotional “tug” those fragments may still have had to the adult, is very cathartic. These sessions can be very emotional, and I encourage that release. It is my firm belief that no real emotional healing can take place unless and until the individual is “whole”, and this process is one of the most powerful in allowing that to happen. Past Lives and Life between Lives

PAST LIVES AND LIVES BETWEEN LIVES Past life work is my passion, because I understand how powerful it can be at resolving such a wide range of issues. Over the years I have helped lots and lots of people to explore their past lives, either out of interest or because we were tracing back the root cause of a particular issue in this lifetime. I have had clients come to me with problems such as sleep disorder; a constant, nagging anxiety; and even infertility. None of these clients would have specifically come to me for a session of past life regression and yet, working back to find the root causes, we ended up in some very interesting situations in times gone by. The process of discovering what caused the pain or trauma in the first place, and dealing with any outstanding issues of course, almost inevitably resolves the problem in this current lifetime, allowing the client to move on knowing that the baggage has been dealt with. LIFE BETWEEN LIVES  Life between lives is a fascinating topic and, like past life regression, it’s a huge subject in itself. If we work from the assumption that the soul survives death – what happens to it? Where does it go? Why does it come back – or doesn’t it? It would take a book to answer all of those questions in depth, and people such as Roger Woolger have produced books that do just that. But in brief, the soul “goes home” to that other reality, that other dimension, where it is met by its soul group. This is a bit like meeting up with old friends after years of being away: a time for celebration and renewing those links, and of telling stories about that time away. What did you do, what was good, what was not so good; what you learned; all those experiences! After a period of settling in and resting, the soul meets with what is generally called “The Council of Elders” for a more formal de-briefing of the time on earth. Each soul comes to earth with a “to do” list, lessons to be learned, challenges to be undertaken. This de-briefing is the time to go through that list and discuss how well the life lived matched the original objectives. It is not done in a judgmental way, rather with love and compassion, helping the soul to understand where the challenges were not met, as well as acknowledging the progress the soul has made in other areas. That leads to the preparation of the script for the next life, and in a session with a client I ensure that we check on the script for this life. The...

Real Testimonials from Real Clients

Sometimes clients will write me a letter – or, more commonly nowadays, send me an email – to let me know what changes have come about in their lives as a result of their sessions with me. It is always a pleasure to receive such feedback. A handful are reproduced here, to give a flavour of the wide range of issues that have been resolved. Names have been  removed to maintain client confidentiality. First, a selection of “one-liners” and then a few slightly longer explanations. If you feel I might be able to help you, why not give me a call on 01444 459 433 or 07597 020 512. I work from Vinings Natural Health Centre in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and I am always happy to have a chat about whatever issue may be holding you back in your life. “I’m more present, more awake.” “I left (the session) not knowing up or down …. There was lots of processing, and now I am lighter, happier and more joyful.” “I haven’t felt this good in my life.       I’ve turned the corner.” “The work you’ve done so far has been an enormous help, thank you very much!” “It’s easier for me to accept who I am. I’m happy with who I am, and I’m easier to get on with.”   “I really enjoyed the session, and did indeed feel the benefit of it. With regards my back, it felt very much improved straight away as you know, with a feeling of freeness that I had not experienced for years. ….. Also re the food issue, that seems to be improving too. Initially there didn’t seem to be any difference in the way I felt about food, but maybe a week or so later, it was like a switch had been flicked in my head, and I just felt all of a sudden that I ‘didn’t need to be fat anymore’ ….. It would be lovely for this to be something that I can leave behind in the past. Or perhaps more usefully, something that can be consigned to the mental rubbish bin as it is something that is now no longer required in my life.” “I’m calmer, more relaxed. I’m able to let go, I’m finding it easier to make decisions. My back is feeling much better. I have had problems with my right wrist for years, it is now loosening up and becoming more flexible.” “Food portion sizes are now smaller, I’m feeling fuller sooner. I’ve definitely got more energy, and I’m doing more. I’m sleeping well at night. I’ve moved on from guilt and anger. “I’m good enough for myself.” “I just wanted to drop you an...

Fears and Phobias – sorted with Hypnotherapy

The vast majority of people have some kind of phobia and there is a very long list of them with their official very long names! Among the most common are, for instance, fear of flying; fear of crowds and / or public speaking; fear of enclosed spaces; fear of fire or water; fear of particular animals and so on. For much of the time people with a phobia can somehow work around it but when it reaches a point when the phobia is having a negative impact on that person’s life, that is the time to do something about it! In my many years of working with hypnotherapy and past life regression, I have to say that almost invariably a phobia can be traced back to a past life trauma. Not always of course – a fear of dogs may come from having been attacked or bitten by a dog in childhood – but I would still check to see if that chimes with a similar incident in a past life. Past life work is my passion, and it still makes me smile when I work with a client and uncover one or more past lives that explain the root cause of the given phobia. The examples are endless, and all make perfect sense: let me share a few with you to give you an idea. A woman who told me she was fine being by the sea but could not stand being by a lake or a river went back to a life as a street urchin in London. The young boy ran errands for an inn-keeper in exchange for board and lodging, often delivering packages on a strict, “ask no questions” basis. A few years later, the boy was doing similar work for one of the London gangs, and had done something to upset them. His punishment was to be tied hand and foot and thrown into the Thames: not a nice ending. A woman came to see me with a complicated cocktail of emotional issues, including not feeling loved or wanted; an obsession with food; and wanting to have children but at the same time being very unsure about that whole thing. We found a very short, sad life where she was a young baby who was just one mouth too many to feed, and who had been thrown down a deep well and buried alive. Can you imagine the feelings and emotions of that tiny infant? The darkness, the fear, the sense of not being loved or wanted? The hunger, the weight of the earth and the suffocating as the poor little mite was buried. Yes, it was very traumatic, and we did a lot of...
